Navigation systems play a critical role in helping users move from one location to another by providing route planning, directional guidance, and real-time data for multiple modes of travel, including walking, driving, and public transit. Google Maps, the leader of GPS navigation, offers comprehensive features for users. However, I believe that their public transit features could see improvements. Being one of the most used apps in the world and being one of the largest sources of community data, I believe that Google Maps could address some issues with public transit navigation and further improve the lives of billions of users.
Public transit navigation has inaccurate updates and lack of user transparency, which both result in less user trust and usability.
